Billy Liar

 is a comedy by Keith Waterhouse & Willis Hall set in an industrial town in 1960. Billy images himself in different situations to escape his mundane life. Fiction and truth become intermingled in his attempt to break away from the life his parents lead. Something they find hard to understand. Billy complicates his life further with 3 girlfriends and one engagement ring which they all think is theirs. Can Billy break free and follow his dreams and will he pick the right girl?
